About Stephen King, said many things wrong, as any known to man. To be the king of horror, even by virtue of the name, but if we demand the trouble classifying species of great achievements, it comes out that the greater part is not congruent to the horror  and it seems the people to keep the eye - it is not true, not heard of any eaten, which would have complained.

It is no longer even the best-selling author of the world, at least not after the success of Dan Brown and the Harry Potter series. What about the King, may be one? Well, is a master of the short form, and his stories, such as Langoliery, The Ballad of the customs that last shot case are among the best texts of quality developed in English. How King here? Well, the fact that Joe Hill is his son, and just released a collection of his short stories.

Using a pseudonym, Hill, tried to distance itself from the great, did not escape, however, associations of species. Debut in the heart-shaped box was still nice scarecrows, but burdened with a mass stereotypical solutions. In the story, Hill shows the lion's claw, emerges as a writer for a daddy, frightening effect - the result of which we received probably the most interesting collection of horror movies, which appeared last year. Horror, but not only. The vastness of the charm has in Ghosts of the twentieth century moral pieces. Some funny how Bobby Conroy comes back from the Underworld, a story about two former lovers who meet after many years on the set of the living corpses. Some, compressing the throat, causing emotion - a breakfast widows know vagabond, who, as adopted by the accidental woman gets her deceased husband's clothes, the text of an excellent run as Tiger Woods' ball, straight to the hardest hole, a paradox that is not just clarifying this story, but it makes complete rethink. Most of the stories qualify as quietly dread. Even if Hill takes themes bearded, banal, makes a new beginning to shine light. This story may be who the brilliant, macabre story, decides to find its creator - which lurk here, the writer must learn from life. Or capture the beauty of children's fears of appearing at the end of the voluntary closure - description of the world where intuition as to the existence of magic mixed with the banal everyday life, the formation of friendship, stupid prank. Hill is trying to measure the moments of the classics, taking a workshop with Dracula, Van Helsing (the sons of Abraham), and Franz Kafka (without apparent reason in the transformation of the narrator's voice is heard in the insect locust), in what is generally average, unless someone likes to run together the author of the beaten paths of literature. Horror devotees can easily find items Kings - excellent, truly American style of focal story-teller, the ability to build a mood, or psychological portrait of two simple sentences, and finally, the ability to learn horror of everyday life. Hill becomes even when they abandon the structure and throws himself into surrealism - then flies away and nicer than his character turned into an insect. She can be sentimental when he writes about his childhood friendship with a quirky (Pop Art), or really scary (a procession of people, ghosts, associations with the family drama made up for the Mask of my father, story, able to induce in the reader's delight and the rage of every colleague, writers). The world does not change as much as we think. Stephen King has his best years probably already behind him, complied with the worthy successor - at this daddy Hill made his debut with the class and power, which the young author Carrie could only envy him. Ghosts of the twentieth century is a real book writer with a huge talent who has not read this fool. Oh, and it is still a small literary gift, hidden between the sheets.
How not to admire?
